Wmw catless dp group buy

Is anyone on board with going in on a group buy? I have been contemplating purchasing a DP for my '09 JCW. I have done a great deal of research and read many of the posts on NAM. WMW craftmenship looks to be top notch. I am defnintely in.

Just wondering if installing a catless downpipe will throw any codes that needs to be cleared out with an accessport?

I have already received mine, but have not had the time to install it just yet so I cannot comment from personal experience. However, the research that I have done, I can safely say your check engine light will be triggered. The best solution...an updated ECU tune.

Yes with any catless downpipe you will get a check engine light, but you can bypass it with the accessport

I would love to jump on this but us 2012 MCS's can't use the accessport to clear codes yet!

I know the catless is gonna throw codes, will the car still be functioning probperly? I mean besides the cel it will throw, will it have any drivability issues? I was thinking of just putting it on and dealing with the lil cel on the dash lol.

Stage 3 will be fine with that setup

Yes, but it will come back. The Access Port tells the ECU to ignore the code.

Alas, the Access Port will not help the 2011+ souls.

I thought the AP would work on up to 2012 MINIS as long as it had the N14 engine? Am I wrong? If so then Alta is advertising incorrectly.

Ahh yes! I own a JCW and tend to lock in on that. The 2012 JCW do still have the N14 engine.

I have a catless dp + the jcw factory exhaust and it is a thing of beauty if you love raspy, throaty exhaust notes. It's also pretty quiet during "normal" (not under boost) driving. I love it!

And I know that has nothing to do with your question, lol. Sorry, just wanted to throw some feedback out there.

No the code should not effect performance, all the AccessPort is doing is basically telling the computer to ignore the code, so it doesn't kick it back as a problem.

With that said, the only reason I wont just order it for my 2012 is because of inspection. I would hate to have to swap downpipes just to get an inspection sticker once a year.

Do you have to buy the AccessPort? - or go to a tuner?

I would love to hop on this, but I need to purchase rotors and pads before anything else. I know that it will throw CEL, but I don't mind it showing as long as I know that it just telling me that I am not running catted. I am about to drop $400 on Rotors and Pads, and I might just say what the HELL and purchase this dp as well. I have already passed inspection 5 months ago, and MD inspection is every two years, so I have at least till March 2014 to get an AccessPort and retune.

But per a side-note, will my Invidia Q300 attach properly to this dp? Is this downpipe 2.5" like the specs are on the Q300? I would love to make my exhaust even louder and give more tone/throatiness sound then just my res deleted Cat-back Q300. And with a catless dp you are bound to get more power gains than what I am running now, since its coming straight off the header. What is the original pricing for WMW Catless downpipe?
