The passenger seat in my wifes 07 Cooper S won't budge. (will not adjust back and forth with the lever under the seat or by using the rear seat access latch) Is there a common problem or anything specific I should look for when troubleshooting and fixing this problem?

 

You posted in the first generation forum (might be ok if the car is a cabrio). I can tell you that seat problems on the first generation cars are abundant, and there are plenty of threads on the topic.
Funny because my sport seats are some of the best fitting, most comfortable seats I've had in a car. No, the best, actually. Yet I've had issues with both fronts.
