Test Drive Take Down

Anybody know if the Mini Test Drive Take Down they are having this month has any kind of money off coupon like the Motor-tober or the Rock the Rivals?

You need to register online to attend the event, show up to the event and go through the process, you will get a $750 certificate (via email) that is good to use on any new MINI for up 90 days.

Oh cool! Do you know if you can use this if you already ordered your Mini?

Thanks!

How long will it take to get the email certificate after the event?

Mark- do you know if the $750 incentive must be used at the dealer where you complete the test drive? Or is it going to be applicable at any dealer nationally?

The previous two similar promotions got you your certificate via email within a couple of days and it could be used at any dealer for purchases completed within the time frame.

I have an event at a nearby dealer this Saturday and I am booked in at 11am- my Mini arrives in +/- 30 days at another dealer. My selling dealer confirms I can test drive anywhere I want - I'll check back and confirm how it all goes after Saturday.

Thanks! There doesn't seem to be another boat leaving for NY til the 11th and I'm having driving lights added so hopefully that holds my car up a bit lol. Just last week I anxious for it to come right away, now I'm hoping it holds off!!

Did any of you get any confirmation when you signed up? I registered on the dealer website, but didn't get an email or anything confirming it.

On the bright side my MA did say that I will be able to use the coupon on our currently ordered car, which is estimated for the end of May. I just hope I'm really signed up and can get the coupon in the first place!

I signed up with both of the local dealers, and never received any confirmation. So I'm glad to hear you didn't either.

Different dealer sites seem to operate differently. I signed up with one dealer who had no idea how my name and number had crossed her desk and was into the full press sales mode immediately and did not know the event was coming up next Tuesday. The other dealer site asked what time I would like to be invited, I entered 11am Saturday and I'm just going to show up. If I get no joy Saturday, my 'Tuesday' dealer (not a day I want to go) said they would take me for a quick run around the block and I should expect a certificate a few days later. That dealer also said Mini does not care where you test and where you order and my current order is good to go for another $750 off with this certificate. I'm in - I hope!

Does your name etc show up on the certificate? Like, if I have a friend in an area where the events are taking place sooner, can they snag a certificate for me and send it to me?

Not sure but I think they must be smarter than that....I'll know Saturday if they ask for ID if the certificate needs a name on it. I'll post a follow up if I am successful getting one.

No other dealer you can go to? It would be worthwhile letting your baby sit at the dealer for a couple of days for $750. No one should be twisting your arm to finalize your deal with that much on the line.

In an earlier promotion, your name and email address show up on the emailed coupon. Also, then it was good for anyone in your immediate household. Getting a friend to sign up for a separate certificate to give to you wouldn't have worked.

I took advantage of a previous promotion and had a similar situation, with a car coming in. I talked to my MA and they got approval for my use of the coupon, even considering the dates mismatch.

Actually looking at the dates, even if my car gets on the next boat it wont get to port til the 25th (10 days before the event near me), and then it has to get from the VDC in NY up to Boston, get driving lights, get clear bra'd. I can always put them off a few days to pick up the car. Looks like this will work out!

My car came in yesterday and it will be mid next week until I can pick it up. I was told that the $750 coupon could not be used on a model that was already ordered. I will need to call 888-ASK-MINI to get the exact details. MINI is bad about disclosure on items like this.

Tell them the Fiat dealer is down the block! Seriously, I'd not be calling anyone except the dealer and telling them this is a deal breaker. This might come down to asking for your deposit back, which you are quite within your rights to do, taking the test drive and then taking back your order - maybe going somewhere else. R60's are not that thin on the ground and I am not even sure Mini know YOU ordered that specific car.

I agree with you, however, I am not going to let $750 stand in the way of what I want. I will work something out with them...I have found the threat of a bad survey goes miles more so that walking away from a deal anymore.

I'm stoked; my car's just wrapping up production this week, so should be delivered towards the end of May. I was really pleased with the pricing I got on the new car already- this extra $750 is gravy. Awesome!
