Forgive me if this has been discussed before, I did a few searches but couldn't find anything. Has anyone successfully changed their roof color, say from black to white? I assume the easiest way to do this would be with a vinyl wrap. Any idea of cost?

Also, how does one go about adding the factory hood stripes (the ones that come with the sport package). Are they just adhesive vinyl available from the dealer?

Well, it happens I've done exactly this combination. I originally ordered light coffee with black top and mirrors. I wanted some more visibility after driving it a while, and had the top painted BMW Alpine White (left the mirrors alone). At the same time I added MINI bonnet stripes (they're just vinyl). I very much like the alterations, but based on the online ordering info and photos I'd seen at the time of the order, I didn't do it up front.

How much did painting the roof cost? Did you consider a vinyl wrap?

 

We got multiple quotes and went with $1000 from the collision center associated with our local dealer, to do the roof. We got the vinyl stripes to compare and used the BMW color because it matched the stripes. They did a great job.

We didn't seriously consider a vinyl wrap, although we have a fantastic vinyl artist available in the area.
