install fog lights in front bumper

I would like to install the stock fog lights in the front bumper, But I do not have a switch in my panel. (window, asc, doorlock, 2 empty, window) Do I need to buy a new panel with fog light switch or can I get just the switch?

You'll need a new wiring harness to run to the lights, may also need to reprogram the BCM so it 'knows' the lights are there. You may be able to just add the toggle by drilling out the existing panel. I've done it for aesthetic reasons, but never for functional purposes.

fog lights

This project has been taking a lot time. Sound like no simple answers.

You could always just do these with either hid's or regular bulbs then wire and switch them seperatly.

the issue is that the switch in the panel is not a standard toggle switch - it is a momentary switch that sends a signal to the General Control Unit (aka BCM aka central control unit) which signals the relay to turns the lights on and off. the standard way to install the fogs calls for replacing the toggle bank with the one including the extra button and getting the GCU reprogrammed. ugh . . .

if you dig you will find that folks have drilled into the toggle bank and added a standard switch in the empty position and you can then just wire the fogs like any typical add on light set using a relay. Possible but not a piece of cake and be careful you don't mess up the switch bank when you go drilling into it.

(btw, others have drilled into the empty spot and mounted the AUX PORT plug there . . .)

There is a factory retrofit kit. It's a major project (I've done it) because the car is not prewired.

The retrofit is discussed here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...og-lights.html.
Here are the installation instructions if you want to get a sense of what it involves: https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=h...2520Lights.PDF

i would have to agree with rkw.

I'm in the process of wiring my car with the stock setup so i can use them on some rally lights right now. trying to find the stock crimp pins is a pain in the butt unless you know the people to talk to.

I did pick up a used switch panel from the UK that only had the windows, locks, and rear/front fogs on them, No asc/dcs since i don't have those features. The rear fog was should already be installed if you're wanting those, but the dealer has to program the computer to enable the retro fit.

The front Fogs have no computer programming, just a matter of following the document rkw posted to get them to work.
