MINI's 10 Year Anniversary

Tomorrow marks MINI's 10th year in in the US market and it is also the day that my Countryman will make its way into the US. The Talisman is going to be at port tomorrow and having it happen on the anniversary makes it that much sweeter!

Wicked cool - I think I'm on the same ship (East Coast). When are you expecting to take delivery?

MA said they should have it on the lot by the 28th. I will be picking it up on the 31st, so that gives a couple of days for the unexpected. Said the truck delivery would be three days and that three days to get through the VDC. I am curious to see how good his estimates are.

How far are you from the port? I live fairly close - so I was hoping for a shorter amount of time between the arrival in port and the dealership. I'm on the Toscana though which still has a week to go!

Dealership is in KY. Usually 1-3 days at VDC, 3 days on truck, and 1-2 days at dealership to prep. So still lots of variables. I can't pick up till the 31st, so as long as it is ready by then, I will be a happy camper. Where is your dealer located?

Good to know - my dealer (Minnesota) hasn't really given me any specific dates yet. Based on what you're saying, it could be ready by the 29th, but my MA is off on Thursday's so Friday the 30th might be more realistic. It is going to be a LONG week!

Our local dealer sent this out:

MINI is celebrating 10 Years in America on March 22nd and it's time to celebrate!

That's right, for 520 weeks, 3,563 days, 87,672 hours, and 5,260,320 minutes MINI has been occupying U.S. soil. We went from one model to six, started a revolution of small, created a passionate comunity of owners, and put 400,000+ MINIs on the roads along the way! Thanks to you, our owners, for making 10 years of MINI in America so monumental.

What would be a celebration without a cake? Specifically CUPCAKES! We have partnered with Cupcake Royale who are equally passionate about their craft of creating the perfect cupcake. On Thursday, March 22nd Seattle MINI and Cupcake Royale are inviting you to enjoy a very special Limited Edition cupcake filled with torque and horsepower on us. Just visit one of Cupcake Royale's 5 locations in the greater Seattle area (Capitol Hill, Ballard, Madrona, West Seattle, and Bellevue) and show them the key to your MINI to get a free cupcake! Some of their stores open early so check the hours for the closest one to you. This is while supplies last so we'd suggest coming early. And while your there we'd suggest buying one for your less fortunate friends that don't have a MINI. Just make sure you eat your special one in front them. Their website is http://www.cupcakeroyale.com/ for locations and hours.

And if you want to stop by our dealership on the 22nd we will be celebrating with cupcakes and special giveaways here too!

Motor on!

My dealership is also in Md. - only 30 - 45 min. away from Baltimore port so I'm hoping it gets there fast after finishing at VDC.
