I'll be down there on Friday and Sunday this year. Probably going to get the car corral parking pass. Anyone else going to be doing the same? We can park together or something on race day.

 

I was looking at the Indy weekend event at Barber for any mention of "parade laps for cars of special interest" but couldn't find anything. I did see the Car Corral option, but my main interest would be a few laps around the track again. Please let us know if you can find someone who can confirm the track laps. It doesn't look like the Legends of Motorsport is even scheduled this year.

Are our cars qualified for the Car Corral?

I guess they are sporty and special interest but I would hate to purchase and get turned away at the gate.

My wife and I are going at least on Sunday and possibly all three days depending on money and the weather. We would love to park and meet some other Mini drivers. We're definitely interested in the Car Corral. I'll let you know for sure if we purchase.

Now to decide whether to take the Clubman or Countryman...

EDIT*** I actually just called the 1800 number and left a voicemail about getting details on the Car Corral pass. I'll let you know what they say.

Yes. There were 2 MINIs and 1 Mini last year. As to which MINI to take: Which one would you rather take track laps in, if they do that this year? When they call, ask about "Parade Laps for Cars of Special Interest". Last year Teresa (Alabama Motoring Society) had that club among the car clubs to affiliate with. If that's not there, pick Birmingham/British Motoring Club. They're in the middle of changing their name.

I'm going to be there! I got my car corral pass just now but the aaa code didnt work for me. i thought the ticket was 30 before tax and stuff but it came to almost $40 :O I'll be at the track on saturday and sunday! Anyone else getting paddock upgrade? I highly recommend! See ya in a few days ya'll.

 

A giggly teenager at Barber's called me back. Our cars are indeed welcome in the Car Corral but there will not be any opportunity to take laps. She said there will be other events where you will be able to take laps this summer but she wasn't sure which events. Not very helpful but oh well, there you have it. My wife and I will be there Saturday and Sunday and we will be in the Car Corral. We would love to meet you guys! Hopefully the rain in forecast will go away!

I'm waiting on a hook up for my tickets. Last year it was last minute before we got ours so there's a chance we wont be going therefore, i'll have this car corral pass up for grabs. I'll let ya have it for what i paid for it. ;D

We ended up just getting the "on site parking" pass. We really want the Car Corral but just couldn't swing the $40 after tickets, paddock, snacks, and drinks.

Which MINI is yours? I saw two jcw's (one a coupe) and I met the owner of a white clubman. Maybe you arrived last in the red r53? Mine was the laser blue r56. :D

 

We were in the silver S Clubman with two black stripes and black top. We ended up parking in "section d". I think I saw the white Clubman from afar but that was it. We had a great time. Definitely wanting to go to the super bike race in June.

 

I saw a couple of nice Mini's there. I was near by with the Honda S2000 Parade guys. I so wanted to be in my Mini.
