continue a phone conversation after walking away from parked CM

Does anyone know how to continue a phone conversation after parking and locking the CM? Ie. Go into a store after parking and taking the call on cellphone handset and not the bluetooth connection that the CM has established prior. In most cars as soon as you open the door, they know to drop the bluetooth session and you are on your way. My 12 CM continues to have the connection even after the doors are locked.

Any thoughts? Thanks..

Hang up and join the physical world.

That's nothing though - the wife is on the phone in the house to our Son in Africa, Peace Corps. I go to pull the MINI out to wash it, and it connects to the call, disconnecting the wife. When I turn the MINI off the call goes back to the wife's phone.

I get done, forget about that, pull the MINI back in and it does it again.

I think I have read about how to deal with this case somewhere in the owner's manual.

It's done on the phone.
With the iPhone touch the speaker icon and it will give you a list of available devices and you just pick the iPhone after which the MINI goes silent.
My old Balckberry Bold had a fairly basic way of doing this as well but I can't recall the procedure. It should be fairly intuitive for a Blackberry user.
The display on the radio will still show the call info but you can walk away from the car. It goes off on its own.

Correct, on the phone choose audio source and switch it back to phone. That will do it. The blue tooth connection will shut down after you move away from the range of the car.
