Removal of Speed Sensors
Removal of Speed Sensors
I have the light trifecta and have ordered all new sensors to replace the old ones as I have no way to narrow down which one it is. I had one replaced by my mechanic a couple days ago and he really had to struggle to get the old one off of the hub...it was garbage by the time he got it.
Is there a trick to getting them out?
Will the lights automatically go off if the problem is fixed or do I have to shut them off manually?
Thanks so much!!

The tend to be stuck in there real hard.
Last time I replaced them I removed my front rims during the evening, let some WD40 do it's work overnight and removed the sensors in the morning. They were still a pain in the *** to remove but I had the feeling it was easier than the previous time I replaced them.
My dashboard lights (all three) went out as soon as I reconnected the battery after the sensors were replaced. Not sure if this is really needed though!

I used a lot of PB Blaster. When that didn't do the trick, i drilled a small pilot hole into it, screwed a drywall screw halfway down into it, and pried it out with a hammer claw like a nail. The screw stays stuck in the sensor pulling it up and out.
