2012 jcw production changes starting in march

I've read that starting with March 2012 production, the JCW's will have the body kit as standard. I've also read that we should be expecting more changes for JCW in the 2012 model year.

I'd like to order a 2012 Clubman JCW this week, but now I'm conflicted whether or not I should wait for more changes.

Has anyone heard details about the upcoming changes?

Check out MOtoringFile for latest news. If it is not there, you are just speculating and not a lot you can do about it.

Unfortunately there will be more changes in the future... possibly minor, or maybe major (full valvetronic on the JCW engine?). I think if you want a JCW, go for it.

The JCW engine is being updated with Valvetronic. The engine for the standard S already received the Valvetronic update in 2011 model year but the update for JCW has lagged. The engine has been announced for the JCW Countryman and should go into other models later this year for 2013 MY: http://www.motoringfile.com/2012/02/...h-valvetronic/

But if you wait for JCW valvetronic on the hatch/clubman, a brand new JCW will be out a year later. And then more updates and more changes...! IMO the small power differences are minor but if the OP wants to wait for the 'ultimate' JCW to maybe be produced, I guess that is his/her decision.

I know. The changes will never end. I'm sure the current engine is fine. I need a vehicle with good gas mileage now. I'm just hoping the Valvetronic change doesn't produce a huge bump in MPG. Looks like it doesn't on Countryman?

Countryman JCW is not available yet so not sure what MPG will be like. I think you can expect a mild bump in HP/torque and increase in MPG from the full valvetronic JCW engine.

If you are considering a JCW (which is an expensive car), a difference of a few MPG may not be significant. But it's your choice and either way it will be a great car.
