Why I ask?

I have an '09 R55 w/ the Tuning Kit, and I just realized that my intake has a black embossed jcw logo, but it is not a colored emblem like you see, say, in the photos at vendor sites selling the JCW Intake.

 

I'm not even sure if mine says John Cooper Works at all. It's a 2012 factory JCW so I'm not positive the intake is any different than the "S" models. You'd think it would be but there are other things "JCW" that even JCW owners have to pay extra for.

 

I have a 2012 MCSa with tuning kit. It has the embossed (not color) JCW logo on the intake. It also has the plaque on the motor with the engraved tuning kit serial number. I can post a pic if it would help!

I have a 2010 factory JCW. I called my service advisor about this today since I am looking at buying a front strut tower bar and need to figure out what can and can't fit over the airbox. I was a little confused bc my airbox doesn't say JCW on it.

Per my service advisor: The factory and dealer installed airboxes are both larger than the MCS airbox. The dealer installed JCW airbox has the JCW emblem on it and the factory installed one does not.

I dunno about embossed vs. colored though...

 

My JCW intake (bought from WMW) has an all black JCW logo on it.

 

So so far nobody reports a JCW colored emblem on an intake?

What started this was seeing http://new.minimania.com/InvDetail.cfm?item=G2NME4000 but also in the 1st gen (where I posted by mistake) there was a pic posted w/ the emblem...

the back story to all this is since I got my S, I was sad that the MINI emblem wasn't on the engine (there were a few months that they stopped I found out)... so I just bought one... then I got the tuning kit and realized another part I kinda wanted an emblem for the $$$...

 

My engine did not have an emblem either, but I have a replacemet engine which I was told does not come with one. I asked the dealership for one and they gave it to me for free.

 

Added the JCW airbox to my 09 clubby S, came from Outmotoring, black embossed only, no color

 

Factory JCW here... no emblem or embossing on the air box. There is nothing in the engine bay to obviously suggest that it is JCW at all. Very odd but most people don't see under the hood so I don't worry about it.

I have a 2011 factory JCW and was disappointed there was nothing under the hood showing it was a JCW...except for a tag on a sensor on an IC tube..
I put my own stickers,emblems and tape to liven up under the hood..
