i had to dig it up

well daily... very nice to meet you. to start, i am a master, L1 technician that specializes in European cars in the US market; i currently have the title of Shop Foreman at a high-end shop in Dallas,TX. i have a problem child on my hands in the form of an r53 S with P0123 and P0222. i have already replaced the throttle body, performed the wiring over-lay from T/B to DME, and had the DME re-flashed (or at least the gent dispatched to our shop said he did... but don't get me started on him!) per the TSB. i have tried everything with the available resources but keep chasing my tail. thank you for the advise... i will try to email them. if you know anyone that could help, or point me in the general direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
When i find the problem and correction, i will gladly post since these two codes seem to plague the Mini community

Don't those 'Diagnostic Computers' just suck? Providing you know what is wrong the computer will tell you its fixed. Oh for the good old days.........

This is dumb but have you tried swapping the battery out? Minis are notoriously strange (electrically) when the battery is not tip top.

There are even stories of them refusing to take a jump start when the battery is dead.

Both the codes you posted are throttle position sensor...so swapping the TB should have solvef the issue.

I don't have anything else to offer..but I like collecting knowledge for when/if I ever need it.

Thank you..and good luck

For me, one of the throttle body wire was disconnected when we put the engine back together
