Do you have a trailer or just put them in the boot? Can you get them inside without removing the rear seats?

They fit best sitting upright in the back seat., just cover the seat with a blanket, or put the tires in bags.

Some of us have hitches on Coopers, some on Cooper S's, and others carry the tires in the back.
No, you don't have to remove the seats, but getting much taller than stock diameter (which most people won't do) will make that difficult.
For the Cooper, some have gone custom, but there are a few manufactures out there with hitches.
For the Cooper S, it was one of the reasons I went with a Supertrapp/side exit, so that I could easily have a custom built hitch put on. I've towed my tire trailer about 7k miles total (to and from races), it works great. I'd say that I'm pulling about 400lbs regularly. For the most part, you don't notice it back there, it even accelerates and brakes fairly well.
I have a Box on the back, and two vertical poles that the tires slide down onto. Email me if you'd like some pics.

With the rear seats down, put two tires flat in the middle, one more standing upright on each side of the stacked pair.....throw a come along strap around the whole bunch, tighten it up and it stays in place. You can then put a good sized plastic tool bin in the rear, an air tank on top, cooler, helmet, a 2ton kmart special jack will fit on the floor behind the passenger seat, and you can continue to stack small items in every empty space.....a small duffle bag in the floor in the front and your ready for a 2400 miles road trip to Topeka and back !

This works best with 205 V700's, it will also work with 225 victoracers on the bottom and 205's on the sides....might be tight with (4) 215 hoosiers though...I'll find out soon.

That shouldn't be an issue with the 215 Hoosiers since the overall diameter is shorter than both the 225/50R16 and the 205/45R16. You've got a little extra width, but it's not as big of a difference.
Good suggestion.

One problem that we found a couple of years ago when doing this with a co-driver was that putting the tires right behind driver and passenger didn't allow for as much seat adjustment. While it was fine for trips to local events, it was nice to be able to relcine the passenger seat real far for longer trips.
When we did the Rome Tour, we tried putting the tires in the very back with everything else behind the driver and passenger. It was more of a nuisance to pack, but allowed plenty of seat adjustment. You can put 4 Hoosiers standing straight up side by side in the very back, if I recall correctly

Four vertically across the folded down back seat. Two nylon come along straps through the hubs. One secures to the seat belt anchor rod on the floor the other to the tie down points in the boot.

This is four tires, cooler, chairs, tool box, helmet, jack, etc with room left over - well just a little. If I have a passenger, I use a small cooler.

Back seat is just folded down and a tarp is used for protection.

Since this photo I have bought a different chair and now have a completely clear view out the back.

Throw a blanket over the back seat, put a couple d-rings in the child seat hold down's and use a nylon strap to keep them in tight.

Some people change tires at home and drive on their race tires.

I've tried

1. two flat on each side, on top of the folded rear seat

I put wheels opposite each other, so the rims form opposing deep dishes,
and stuff a buffle bag or rucksack in the void.

2. four standing up, on top of the rear folded seat
I like 2. the best.

by Andy Ross.

3. four standing up at the back.

Squid,

What size are those tires in the first picture. I can't get 205-16s to fit side by side laying down. See my picture above. Two are flat on the right and one is leaning on them from the left (covered by the chairs in the pic. and one (visible) is in the back. Your tire dia. must be really small.

Scott

Those flat-lying tires are 215-40-16 Hoosiers.
