How to recognize Sport Seats from pictures?

Hi All -

Newbie to forum here!

I used to own an '03 Cooper w/ Sport PKG several years ago, have missed it immensely & now looking to trade in current vehicle (Honda Fit) for a used mini.

After doing research on repairs/reliability, I've narrowed my search to an '08 or later Cooper base model (ruling out S models).
I've got 3 non-negotiables that I hope to find included w/ the purchase, and one of them is Sport Seats.... Now, many of these dealers are not mini experts, and don't know if the seats are sport or standard... Is there any way to recognize sport seats just from looking at the dealer pictures online?? If there is that little hump/bump thing front center of the seat, does that automatically mean it is a sport seat?? Or no? Do full leather seats not have that bump at all, even if they are sport model? Would appreciate any help/advice from users out there please!! Really confused... Even called local mini dealership & sales assoc could not give me a definitive answer (probably annoyed I wasn't buying new from him). Thanks so much for any help!!

- E.

I know the seats in my R50 are not sport seats. They are very flat and have no bolstering at all. In a turn I am all over the place but in my R56S, I usually stay where I want to be.

Non Sport are flat on the bottom and back of seat.
Sport seats have large bolsters on the bottom and back of the seat.

The R50-R53 seats are almost identical to the R56 seats.

Our R53 didn't have the bump in the centre of the seat. I'm not sure I could tell the difference from a picture. Here are pics of our R50 (not sports) and R53 (sports), both in cloth.

It looks like the bolstering on the bottom picture is a little higher and maybe on the sides too?

That's an accurate observation. Bolstering is the obvious difference.
