sup i was wondering if anyone knows if this bracket will fit my 2012 r56. it states only up to 2010 but has that much really changed in the mounting bolts for the rear bumper. please help me out with this.

Mini Do More is another MINI hitch vendor; they supply a distinct version for the 2011+ models, and the instructions to install are slightly different. So I'd say: yes, the 2011-12's are different.

 

Yes, 2011+ are different. When I purchased my MCS last spring I was told the hitches for 2010 and older would not fit and they were were working on a redesign for the 2011 model foward. By the time they got it figured out and brought one to market, I had already found my Titan 4x4 for towin and haulin, so no need for a hitch on my MINI at that point.

As a rule of thumb, many items / parts listed for the R56 "2007 forward", may not work on the 2011 and new cars. I would always recommend asking to make sure first.

 

I shopped for a hitch at a local place when I first got my 2011 and the reason the "older" hitch version won't work is that the tail light's new location on the 2011 rear bumper is right where the hardware for the old one was.

With spring approaching I am looking for a hitch for my new 2013 Justa. My old '04 R53 took a beating over the years with either trying to fit my road bike inside the hatch, or on a window rack. So I want to go with a hitch this time around. Indeed, it does seem like the 2011 and on models have limited number of options available for them.

Actually, the MiniDoMore pre and post 2011 hitches use the same pictures in the installation notes (and using the pre 2011 model), with the only difference a few added sentences and photo about removing the back up/fog light assembly in the new models- so apparently the bumper assembly under the plastic is the same!

So had any one here installed a bike hitch on a 2011+ Justa?
