Looking at a 2009 Mini Cooper Clubman

I have a Honda Civic SI with 5,000 miles.

I Love the look of the Cooper and this car seems very nice, has one scratch on the half door going to the back.

it is Black with 56,000 and they are asking $17,000, not sure what they would give me for the SI yet.

Leather heated seats, dual moon roof, I think it has blue tooth.

Your thoughts????

Cooper, or Cooper S? If it is a "Cooper" than $17,000 sounds a little high with that kind of mileage.

It is the cooper not the S.

I drove it and although it is cute I was not really impressed. I got back into my Honda SI and the responsiveness is so much better as far as exceleration and I keep thinking I have a car with 5,000 miles and is a blast to drive.

Yes the cooper looks like a blast but in reality my SI is probably more fun especially without the S package in the Mini.

I also have to think that the Civic is one of the top most reliable cars out there, and the Mini for good or bad is not.

Although I may have wanted a Mini, maybe I should be happy with the awesome car I already have.

Good for you, the Civic is a dead reliable sprinty appliance.

If you take an MCS out for a drive you won't look back for your SI.

I bet I would enjoy a Mini S but my wife already thinks I need counseling cause I am looking at a Mini 6 months after buying my SI.

I have to admit I do love my SI it is very fun to drive and comfortable.

The Clubman was a bit cramped and felt like a less expensive car.

Certainly more of a go-cart feel with the door right up against my left side.

Thanks for your input

Dan

Unless you have money to flush down the toilet, keep the SI, it's a great car and will give you years of driving pleasure. Trade it and you will probably lose $5,000.
