Advice on used 2010 mini purchase, please.

Hello,
I'm new to the mini world and hope you guys can tell me if this sounds like a good deal on a used 2010 Mini Cooper S. $20K with 22,000mi., auto transmission, sports and premium pkg, bluetooth. Haven't found anything exactly like it on the web to compare (so many options in a mini!). It's a clean car and drives well other than a little hesitation from a dead stop. From research it seems this is normal (?) turbo lag.

I'm also wondering, with 0.9 APR, if it's more wise to just go for a new one. Take advantage of the full warranty, etc. I'm not an experienced car buyer and any advice on pros and cons would be appreciated. Thank you.

For me, I would get a new ordered with what options, color, etc. Sounds like this car is an S and for not much more, you have the full warranty, maintenance, etc. Good luck!

If you can afford new, I'd go for it. I went for .9% financing but got 0% when the car came in. .9% is very good though, practically free money.

You'll probably be saving ~$7K on a similarly-equipped 2012 MINI. You have to figure out if the two years newer, less miles, full warranty, free maintenance, and new-car-ness is worth that much to you.

Or, conversely, if you want to get into a "stripper" base MINI for about the same money. Which will have the full warranty, etc.

Thanks for the responses. Spicy - how did you manage to get 0% financing? Pretty sweet!

The hesitation is pretty common on these cars, from the two that I have owned, and what I have read. These are fun cars, if you like the color combination, and the way it drives, go with it. If you don't care for the color, or wish for other options, keep looking. Find out what maintenance has been done on the car, and if any mods have been done.

Keep asking the forum, there are a bunch of helpful people here. Good luck.

Mike
