New Mini Countryman All4

Hi Everyone,

I have been reading this forum for the past several days and found it very informative.

I just purchased a pre-owned 2011 CM All4/Manual/Absolute Black/ Premium/Cold/Blue Tooth/Sunroof, I am sure I missed a few with only 6500 miles. Let me say it was a task finding a used one but I got really lucky!

I am so excited and have been counting the days until I can bring him finally home this Saturday. So like an expecting mother. LOL.

It was by accident that I discovered the CMAll4 and fell in love with it the moment I test drove it. I was actually in the market for an SUV but I couldn't justify such a huge vehicle for just me and my french bulldog Buddy. The CM fits the bill perfectly and it reminds me so much of a bulldog, short and stout just like my black/brindle dog.

Because I test drove it only twice and didn't know too much about the CM, I read most of the threads with gusto.

Once I start driving my new CM, I am sure I will have questions for you all.

BTW, seems like everyone has named their CM. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Awww.... wow. You have a frenchie too? Boy or girl? Aren't they the cutiest thing? Do you have photos of yours? I am hoping Buddy loves the CM. He is use to having a bench seat to sit and lay on in the front. I have a Toyota Tacoma and he enjoys riding in it. He likes sitting on my lap as I drive and am wondering how comfortable he will be.

Or you can combine enthusiasm with size and go for "GUTSO"

LOl.... that's a good one too. Will add it to my list.

BTW, do most people name their MINI? I have never named any of my previous vehicles.

You're either a namer or you're not. Some people view inanimate objects as inanimate objects, others recognize characteristics in them that naturally leads to naming. I've named most all of my vehicles from Sebastian (a '53 Chevy) to Prince (guess which Plymouth), to Zaftig. If it doesn't come natural, don't force it - you'll both regret it.

I've only been moved to name three of my cars...

1973 BMW 2002 tii - Tobias
1999 BMW 328i - Franz
and my 2012 MINI Countryman ALL4 - Connor

One 1969 AMX, three Jeeps, a Subaru Baja, and a Mazdaspeed3....the thought of a name just didn't strike me, with these.

Well, I am kind of moved to name him. My CM reminds me of my dog, short, stubby and all muscles and brings a smile to my face every time I look at him.

Well, I have a name for that, but this is a family board.

Sealy - Who, for the moment, is flustered.

Until I got my first MINI in 2002, my 1972 BMW 2002 was the most fun car to drive I had ever owned. MINI ownership has restored the joy of driving for me

I was t-boned, while driving my 2002 tii, while in college, in 1987. I loved that Bimmer so much, that I cried when it met its demise. I still miss that little car.

While my 328i was very close, and high on my list of favorites, it still did not compare.

After the first week of driving my Countryman, always in Sport mode, I emailed the MINI sales manager, just to tell him that I had fallen in love all over again.

To feel that joy all over again, has convinced me that there will be a definitely be second MINI along side this one, in the not too distant future.

Thats funny.. I drove my '72 2002 for almost six years and never even put a radio in it because I loved to hear the engine and exhaust noises..when the 320i came out in '77 I liked the new look and my dealer offered me within $400 of what I paid for my'72 new as a trade in on his bright orange demo and I bit. It never was quite the same and damed if he wasnt driving my '72 himself the next time I came in for service

The last time I saw mine, was at a junkyard, near Woodstock, GA - when I went to retrieve my belongings. I hated parting with that car, so much, I had them give me the Alpina three-spoke steering wheel, out of it. I still have it.

Very cool rememberance...that was probably smaller than the stock steering wheel, I sat in one at a car show this past summer and couldn't get over how big the steering wheels used to be

I was thinking maybe "Torito" which means little bull in Spanish. In honor of my black french bull dog.

A Spanish name, in honor of a French Bulldog, for a British car, built by Germans, in Austria. Now *that* is awesome!

Jimbo - That's right...it was a lot smaller than the stock steering wheel. In fact, the first time I drove a MINI, that was one of the things that stuck me as being reminiscent of my old friend.

Oh boy.... I can't stop laughing. Since you put it that way, it does make sense in a weird way. Too funny!
