Aesthetic Creations black door handle covers

FINALLY ARRIVED TODAY!!!!

Ordered on November 1st, 2011 and they just arrived. Pretty disappointed that it took this long.

I emailed them and while responsive, not apologetic and didn't even remotely seem to be in any hurry. Last response I got on 12/28 was:

"I am packing and shipping them all this week. Since I'm technically not working and have family in town it is taking me awhile, but they will be sent by the end of next week, I'm sure. Thanks!"

I am by no means suggesting people NOT order from Aesthetic Creations, but did want to share my experience.

That's crazy. If they really had a good excuse maybe, but sounds like they have other things more pending.
I've had great experiences with OutMotoring.

I will NEVER order from AC any more... I waited more than you did for the same product last winter (including covers for Clubman rear door). Installed door covers in spring, only to have ALL start cracking after only few months. Called AC and got the respond that I have to send the covers back (pay shipping again!!!) and wait for replacement again for long time. And pay for shipping and duties (for Canada) AGAIN...
I placed my experience on their Facebook page only to get the respond from the owner how I should not trash their products, but to contact them... I did, and no help.
Again, vendors like this are only good as every and any delivery they do. Not just for "selected customers"...
To OP: be sure you ask for your money back if your covers start cracking... The ones I have are POS! And people bad mouth eBay stuff from China????..

To AC owner: what happend with "customer is always wright?"...

With my first order from AC I waited over a month for a decal. My second order (the black doorhandles) came in in less than a week! I actually got them last week and they've been on my car for days.

Waited almost 2 months for Mini emblem covers. Will not use them again in the future.

Ditto!! Order placed October 29 but after running out of patience from waiting 7 weeks I opened a chargeback dispute. I received my order 23 December. I hope the products last but even if they don't I'll NEVER do business with them again.

The black door handle covers were out of stock just before the holidays which is why it took so long to get them. I received the ones I ordered about a week and a half ago, but you know what, the car was just as drivable without them so the wait didn't bother me much. Ya know, stuff goes out of stock...it happens. I found them to be responsive to emails. One of the covers fell off and I contacted Hannah at AC and she immediately sent me a free replacement (and paid for the shipping as well) which I got in a matter of days. She also put industrial strength double sided tape on the inside of it and included a small roll of tape for the other one that hadn't fallen off along with a the cleaner to make sure the tape stuck well. Both are on there solid now and look great (so does the gas cap cover). It appears that this is a husband/wife operation that is growing and at the point where they need employees (which they tell me they're hiring). They're not uncaring, just swamped. It's an American small business, something we could use more of, so give them a chance. Just my opinion...

Excuses, period. Successful businesses (American or otherwise) know how to manage their workload or they go out of business. What does being an American business have to do with anything?? The MINI is about as foreign as foreign can be. Seems to me if buying American is/was such a big deal to you that you would have a Ford or GM compact instead of the MINI.

Thank you very much but I'll take my business to what ever company provides quality products and good service for me and this foreign made car.

So if you want to get door handle covers where will you go? No one else makes these.

You get this PO'd about waiting? You must be a real pleasure at the supermarket! By the way, most cars these days are either foreign made or have major components that are foreign made. Just because you're buying a U.S. brand name car doesn't mean it wasn't made in Canada or Mexico. Many are.

Good point. AE is the only game in town for black door handle covers. It's surprising to me that you can buy checkered door handle covers everywhere but you can only get black ones from AE. With as many people as there are doing blackouts on their MINI's, it seems like you'd see a lot of the after market retailers selling them.

It took several months for me to get mine. By the time they got to my house I completely forgot I ever ordered them. I had a 1/4" gap of chrome around the whole handle too it looked terrible. If I knew what I was getting I would have just spend a few extra bucks to get them painted professionally.

I'm not telling anyone not to order from them. If you can deal with ridiculous wait times and shoddy quality then go for it.

I waited quite a while to get mine too. They fit perfectly. The passenger side got a small crack after 1.5 years. I emailed them about this and about a month or so another showed up. It fits perfectly too.

As others have said they are a small company and work at their own pace.

AC makes their own stuff. Outmotoring does not. They are a MINI supermarket on the web.

I purchased the Challenge stripes from them too. After my accident I needed to have them re-done. The dealer did a bad job putting them on. Mike sent me another set at no charge. The guy that did my window tints finally put them on correctly.

They make good stuff and have good customer service. You just have to be patient. On the negative side they charge your CC at time of order not when it ships.

I would buy from them again.

Then I guess, you are a "lucky one"!
I was kind of thinking that I got a "raw deal" being a customer North of the boarder. After seeing all posts after my initial comment, I see I am not alone... Being a small "family" business does not give you a pass to produce bad (defective) product. Being an American business does not give you a pass on doing bad customer service...
2+ months of waiting for a plastic mould!? That beats even m7, And their hood scoops are a bit more work. Don't you think? And better quality at least... Examples of "good American small business" are many to count. AC is not. They keep saying (on FB, among other places) that their products are in stock. Of course, until you order ( and prepay...). Hmmmm...

After reading some of these posts about door handle covers cracking, I hope my blackjack union covers don't do it. I got them from OutMotoring, any issues with cracking door handle covers from them????

I've had two sets of black gas cover caps and a set of door handle covers plus another set that's been shipped. Thankfully it's winter and don't drive the cars unless it's dry....I just don't know what I would have ever done if I had to endure days of driving with those chrome handles!!!!!
One phrase kiddies......High level of entitlement.

Wow, I didn't expect this kind of response when I posted. I do wish I would have known these details prior to ordering. At least it's out there now.

Again, I am not attempting to encourage a boycott of AC. Just wanted to share my experience so others were prepared.

After reading this and some other posts, I think I will look elsewhere for the things I wanted from them. Thx for letting us know.

Expecting a product to be delivered in a reasonable amount of time when it's supposedly "In Stock" is not an example of entitlement, sorry. If AC has production capacity problems they should either expand or be up front about realistic delivery times. No one likes to have their money in limbo, and there's nothing "entitled" or unreasonable about that.

There is entitlement when you pay for something. They should be more upfront with people. Communication is the key. Or you could treat the world like Burger King. When you pay, you have it your way! Just my 2 cents.

^ Just Plasti-dip the handles.

It's not that AC's service sucks. It's that it sucks inconsistently. Same as their quality. I would rather Plasti-Dip (another American company BTW) my door handles, and have them last, and can be fixed anytime they need to be. No business should ever hold money or product hostage for 2 months. You know why? Because of the power of the internet. And bad service news travels fast. No one on here is wanting to boycott AC, but in a way they're doing that themselves.

Yours are OEM MINI. Not the same thing.

This thread is a rehash from last year or the year before. Some people waited 6 moths to get their door handle covers and other parts. Like I said earlier they charge you when you place the order not when it ships so that part sucks.

We are talking about door handle covers here, if dealing with this company is an issue them keep them chrome.

I have had an OK experience dealing with them.

I spoke my peace.
