Clearing hard DME codes

Hey PDX MINI!

Looking for any information (other than the dealer) or locations or people who have the right device to clear my hard DME codes.

The dealer wants $60-120 and my car for a half day for something that takes 5 minutes.

I've stored a code for my rear ox sensor running lean. I know it's not, I put everything back to stock, but the code remains. I'm going to try to pull the battery, see if that clears it, but if there's an easier way, I'm all ears.

Thank you!

Jason

I have a Garmin 1390LMT and a Garmin ecoRoute HD Vehicle Diagnostics Communicator, I am able to clear most codes with that. Both units were more than what the Dealer is wanting though, but it's a one time purchase.

Good info for the part numbers, someone else stepped up to help me clear them, if that doesn't work, I'll see if you're willing to help me out =)

So, interesting thing...someone in the club attempted to help me clear the code. It disappeared for a second, then came right back....without even starting the car. It seems the code is somehow permanently stored in the computer. We/I tried pulling the battery, no dice. My radio stations didn't even reset!? At this point I'm waiting on a call back from MINI to get him in as this should be covered under the 02 Sensor Warranty (keeping fingers crossed).

SuprCoop, what was the Code? Or was it not able to be read at all? Sounds frustrating!!

RJK, it was p2096. And apparently the hard codes such as this can only be cleared by the dealer, paid $60 for a half hour's worth of work, but they reset all adaptations, washed/vacuumed him, topped off all the fluids and found two bulbs burned out. I'd say it was well worth it! Sadly, it wouldn't have cost me anything had I known about the o2 sensory warranty in the first place before I replaced them with ac delco units (which are $100/direct fit, btw).
