R50/53 Anyone else have this problem or is it just me?
It seems every other time I am about to get out of my car when I turn the key off and pull it out I hit the windshield wiper switch to the on position! The car turns off at the same time the wipers start moving, so I end up with wipers half way through there cycle and I have to reinsert the key and turn them off. Maybe it's just me... but I find the wiper switch too easily accidently turned on...either that or I am a moron not watching what their doing...I like to think it's the first problem
1) No more caffine for you! Starbucks makes a decent decaf, best to try that.
or
2) Try clipping those fingernails. Remember what mom said about personal hygene.
or in the alternative
3) If you're intelligent enough to post on NAM, you couldn't be a moron. (They're all on the 914 site bashing Randy Webb).

I do that when i start my car. took me a while to figure out why the wipers would come on when the car started.

My problem is that I accidentally move the turn signals, causing my neighbor to come over and tell me my parking lights are lit up on one side of my MINI. . . .
On a couple of occasions (but not often) I've had a similar problem. When I shift quicly, if I'm careless about returning my hand to the steering wheel, I'll brush the wipper control, and start the wipers. I think the wipper stalk is a little close behind the steering wheel. you just have to watch it.

This is a common problem for all SCCA weenies........it has to do with liking cars and doing something about them....problem is of a personal nature and nothing will cure it. You are stuffed.

>>Ever push the stalk forward for high beams?
I do this, but in my case it's because of my VW. The "pull-on, pull-off" action isn't normal... And I'm always flashing the hi-beams when I use the turn signal... I suppose if I drove the car more often it wouldn't happen though... But I'm just the mechanic/navigator.

Try learning to move a little differently when you get out and you can probably avoid undesirable results. If not you must be a really old dog.
