I live in edgewater nj and i see a all black JCW with a red roof and tinted windows driving around. I just want to say i envy your mini and it is such a sexxxxy as mini !!!

Where are you guys located? I'm down in Hoboken and could definitely use some help with some upcoming installs (JCW steering wheel and driving lights) but have no room to work in my condo building. Even car washing is an awful chore with no water source (not to mention the crazy looks everyone gives me for actually spending so much time on detailing my MINI.

 

Im in edgewater, I am going to use a mechanic located in closter to install my driving lights. my uncle and i do most of the work on my mini but he doesnt want to mess the electrical wiring part up. So i will let you know unless you know someone ??? But for the most part i do my own work on the mini myself ... But we should all whip it sometime.

 

I would also leave those two installs to a pro. I'm not embarrassed to say that I am not mechanically or electrically inclined and prefer to pay for it to be done right the first time.

but since you do pay for the installs where do you go ?? cause i went to prestige once and those prices are ridiculous, even their oil they sell is expensiiiiive .. do you use a local mechanic that you recommend because once my brackets come in Id love to get these on my car !!

 

I used to work at Prestige Mini and would have one of the best techs there do work for me on the side to avoid paying the exorbitant labor rate. I now work in Greenwich, CT for a Bentley, Rolls, Ferrari, Maserati, Bugatti, Aston Martin, McLaren and Fisker dealer. They give me a deeply discounted reasonable employee labor rate there plus itis convenient because I get the work done while I am working and don't have to spend my days off getting installs done.

 

Don't forget about me. I would like to get together for a Bear Mountain run or to hang out. I am not that mechanically or electrically inclined either. I have done a thing or two on my car though.

My mechanic in New City has done a bunch of stuff to my car. Such at the NM intake, rear sway bar, torque arm insert, SS brake lines, Short shift kit, pads and rotors. He charges a fair price and does excellent work.

I am up in Rockland just off exit 10 of the Palisades. I have a garage. Come on by and I will lend a hand with an install or two.

 

Didn't mean to hi-jack the thread on you guys. I appreciate any offers of help and am definitely up for a get together or a run sometime soon.

 

Thanks, would he be able to do an install on hotside and cold side boost tubes ?? also PIAA driving lamps?? how much would he charge for that ??

i see you have your headlamp rings black as well as the grille and etc ... did you do that your self or did you have someone do it?? cause i would love a link to a video that will show me how to cause i have the plasti dip just need to learn how to take them off so i can apply it...

okay i think oneifhs and I are going to get together next weekend. maybe for the local ppl we can do an informal GTG with a couple of us on some local roads in NY ... not trying to get a 30 man rally going ... when we finalize stuff next week ill post and let ya know ... but as long as the snow stays away im down to motor next weekend.

Ive read about hawks nest and of course seen all the videos and commercials, since i have returned from school i have been dying to do it ... not too sure where it is ...
