Funky alarm (LED) behavior

Noticed the other day after walking back to the Coop that the 3 LED's were still glowing red on the gauge, even though I locked it about 20 mins earlier.

Watched it today. Stayed same way for at least 10 mins before dropping back to the single LED.

Nothing in manual relates to that. Doors and hatch secure. Nothing open. Windows closed.

Any thoughts?

TIA

This is normal... For the first minutes the 3 LEDs show the "MINI's heartbeat". Then, to conserve power, only 1 remains signaling the alarm is on.

Yes, I know that.

Had the car for over three years.

The ODD part is that the 3 LEDs are remaining on for MUCH LONGER than just a minute or two. Never did that before.

10-15 minutes. Then fall back to single LED.
