JCW Recaro in an R55 question

So I'm looking at picking up a set of JCW Recaros for my JCW Clubbie. I got a GREAT price from my dealer but their parts guy said they won't fit a Clubman.

My question is, are the seats in the R55 and R56 not interchangeable. I can't believe that they wouldn't be, but stranger things have happened.

I was under the impression that the R55 and R56 were identical from the 'B' pillars forward; so like you, I can't understand how they wouldn't fit...

I'm tempted to say screw it and order them anyway. Worst case when I get back stateside someone with an R56 would be a screaming deal.

RealOEM shows the seat part numbers (frames, etc.) to be identical for the latest production versions of the JCW R55 and JCW R56; I'd be surprised if the story was different for any similar R55/R56 comparison dating back to MY 2008. I will qualify that statement by saying that I did not scrutinize every part number; but the major parts that I thought would tell the tale are the same...

I'd say your chances of fitting R56 Recaro seats into your JCW Clubbie are pretty good...!

Thanks for the info. Maybe he meant that they won't fit a US Clubman because of the pressure sensor issue? I dunno. Either way, I'm ordering these. Screw it.

I guess that's a possibility. Good luck, and post back how it goes for you; I'm certain there are plenty of interested folks!

No, I'm going through a divorce so a lot of plans are being shelved for the time being.

Thanks. We've gotten past the anger and we both see that while we WANT to be together, there are some issues that need to be worked out separately and having the marriage in place makes it too easy to fall back into old ways. We hope we can come back together later, in a better place, as better people, but we also know we need to have the option to meet new people. We're still friends and we'll still be connected by our girls but it's definitely not easy.

Thanks again for the kind words.
