Just Got iPhone 3GS...What does CM Need?

OK...I know, I'm behind the curve here. I have just obtained a new iPhone 3 GS from my employer. I have Connected in the car and can run my iPod & now music thru the iPhone from the "Y" cable.

What is the snap-in connector I need and what additional capability does it provide? Costs?
Anyone have an older one they want to part with?

Thanks.
Mike.

I believe there's currently no difference in capability between the Y-cable and the snap-in cradle, at least in terms of the features that would work. There was a difference in some models (including mine), but it went away with the iOS 5 upgrade. There's some claim about using the car's antenna if you use the cradle, but I'm not sure how useful that is.

Yeah. I heard that as well. However, if you do a search for the pin-out signaling of the iPhone dock connector, there doesn't seem to be provision for external antenna signaling. A close examination of the armrest does show a larger contact point that might be for an antenna signal, but I'm not sure how that would connect with an iPhone.

Of course, other phone brands may have external antenna connections, but it appears that the iPhone may not.
