Oh oh,,,better NOT get Maaco
I wouldn't recommend the Maaco shop at Colfax & Josephene any time soon.
Took my S there last Monday to repair/repaint my rear bumper and replace the two right rear fender flares. (I found out MINIs and cement pillars don't mix. Put a 1" scrape on my bumper and scratches on the fender flares) The only reason I picked them was they are fairly close to where I live.
Saturday I called for a status and was told it had been ready two days. Asked why I wasn't called on Thursday when it had been completed. They said they had left several messages. Funny, I didn't get any of them. Checked the bill and it had my correct number. This wasn't a big deal to me as I have a 2nd car.
While waiting for the car to be brought out, I was told that they detail all the cars before returning them to the customer and that they would look better then when brought in. I thought, cool, especially since my 'S' was spotless inside and out when I dropped it off.
Well, my car hadn't been detailed. The outside was covered in dirt/mud and there was mud all over the driver's side floor. The detail guy tried to say it was just dust from sitting two days. Pointed out the dried mud all over the hood, both sides and inside floor. He then said it must have been overlooked.
I asked how it got so dirty and was told the work is actually done in Arvada. Yep, found 20+ miles had been put on the odometer. Guess the roof collapsed on their paint shop in last March's snow storm and was still in the process of being rebuilt. If I had known this, I would have gone elsewhere. Not real fond of having some stranger driving around town in my 2 1/2 month old S.
On the plus side, the bumper & fender flares look new again and they did finally clean it up good once they realized it hadn't been done.
So, while they do a good job on the repair, I would at least wait until their paint shop got rebuilt before using them. That is, unless you don't mind a stranger driving the car 10 miles across town to Arvada.
