Well, I'm officially a one mini family again.
Well, I'm officially a one mini family again.
So in the last month, I have pretty much sold off my "inventory", bought a couple of engines for my 78 pickup, before sticking with a 1100 I picked up. Sold the 96 Cooper, sold the 93 mayfair, and just sold "cupcake" my 82 city E.
The cooper was intended and used as a parts vehicle for the pickup, which t the same time I came across two carbed 1275's for $300. The moved my date around so many times I finally got to the point where I knew I wouldnt be able to complete the truck in time, so the guy that bought the Cooper, also bought the 1275's.
I stumbled across a 93 Mayfair, and stripped it for parts to fix up the pick up (carpet, full wiring harness, distributor, starter, wheels & tires, steering cowling, ignition switch, dash, gauges, heater, all lights and electrical components other than the alternator, rad which I punctured accidentally on the lower tank getting out
, and a few other bits). So the guy came and picked that up about a week and a half ago or so.
And finally cupcake, the one that was supposed to come back to the states with her as of now unnamed brother the pickup. She got picked up Tuesday by her new owner. I have to admit, I was sad to see her go, and dont really agree with the new owners plans, but shes not mine anymore. In a nutshell, the previous owner I bought her from put wing mirrors on, a early grille, 10" wheels (grille and wheels painted to match body) with stainless hub caps, and I know the new owner wants to put minilight style wheels on it, and start making it look like a newer mini. I guess for me the thing I liked about the look was it looked older, so it stood out in the crowd. The only things I did to it was toss the original seats, put in the seats from the cooper, and install a radio and speakers.
With the pickup, I ordered a completely new interior in black from newton commercial, cobra classic buckets with headrests from hudderfield spares black with white piping, and am trying to decide on swapping in the full length burl wood dash from the mayfair. I picked up a 6 disc dvd changer, in dash 7" monitor, and a set of speakers pathetically cheap from the BX (about 300 for everything). Just got in a ton of new chrome and stainless, and cant wait to get going on it!
I think I am going to ship most of the parts back with my furniture, and strip it down, prep it myself, and let maaco or earl schieb spray it in a little darker green closer to BRG. Should be a nice car for the wife when its all done, as this is going to be her baby.

They had the best prices I could find, plus theirs come with headrests. I figured if I didnt like the look of the headrests, I can always get black plug to cover the hole.
