Coco's upgrades are almost finished. This weekend we installed the mud guards and caliper covers. Here's some pics:

just a question, is the caliper cover's main purpose to have less brake dust? won't it retain heat on the brakes upon hard usage? looks good though... Cheers...

Does the caliper cover trap in brake heat?
MGP Caliper Covers actually reduce caliper heat. The Caliper Cover only covers the front of the caliper allowing all heat to escape up through the top of the caliper.

Although that doesn't really make sense to me. Normally the heat can escape through all angles (front and top). Does not seem logical to me that blocking one escape route and only allowing heat to escape through the top would reduce caliper heat.

 

I like the covers. I think I might do that. Easy to install? Any snags you came up on?

 

I decided to do these when I planned on installing the mud guards, since I'd have the wheels off. I watched the video on the company website, and for the rears and the left front, it couldn't have been easier. It must be me, but nothing ever goes that easy for me on a project. The right front rotor was just a touch too tight to the caliper for the clip to go in freely, so I checked with the company, and they told me what to do, which was very simply loosen the caliper a little, pushing up, and re tightening, and then there was plenty of room to put the clip in. That may never happen to anyone else, I don't know. The covers are top quality, and as was said on their website, actually might help the heat, that wasn't my concern, it's just there for looks, and that they do! Everyone is amazed when they see them, and it was a lot simpler than the mud flaps!
