38 here (still on the fence but starting to lean back towards the JCW, i think the fun factor is to much to pass up)

22, bought it when I was 21. I saw your thread on vwvortex, I was surprised to see that most of them said the same thing that people said on here.

I'm 23 now, but who knows how old I'll be by the time I get my JCW... It's been 4 months since I ordered!

40...but I have had a problem with fast cars for 20+ years.

I also strongly considered the Golf R, but it wasn't available when I needed a new car last spring. I like the look and performance of the R but I ended up liking the uniqueness of the MINI more. I wanted something different. I do like the interior of the R better than the MINI as I don't like the functionality of the MINI interior so much. It looks interesting and all, but I prefer the look/functionality of the R. Performance-wise, I've had not one regret getting the MINI over the R. Get a MINI!

40. came from a 911 (996 C2) and the fun factor is off the charts. Yes, the previous ride had plenty of oomph and handled like a dream but my mcs (after suspension mods) handles immensely better imo. i'm currently researching ways to address the "oomph" factor.

Old enough to know better than to answer questions about my age... OK, if you must know, 48 going on 35...

But even my 83-year-old uncle gives my JCW a big !

Damn! Y'all make me feel like a fossil.
"Fun" cars in the driveway=MCS, Porsche Boxster,Porsche 911SC, Porsche 912, and a surprizingly agile 93 Saturn SC2. Mini got over 8,000 miles tacked on since February...MORE than all the others COMBINED.

Inching up on 74 next April.

I agree with you on every point. The uniqueness of the JCW is what is pulling me towards it, just trying to get past the lack of space compared to the R.

The MINI has a lot more space than my S2000.

35. I would have had a JCW years ago but I had to settle less expensive cars. Unfortunately I think many of us normal people can't afford or justify expensive cars when we are young.

I would probably be driving a 1M more than a JCW too! Well maybe...

1M was my second choice over JCW. 2nd favorite because it was just too much $$.

BTW have you experiences the pump failures? Water or fuel - can't remember which the 135 seems to suffer from.

But the S2000 was such a great car. So sad they stopped making it. What was Honda thinking.

No issues and just dyno'd 430+ whp with 1M ,But may sell JCW to buy a Volvo vn 780 or a peterbilt to haul my other toys from florida to panama.

Thanks for making me feel younger. Just passed 68, my second MINI and truly love my JCW. Oh, for you young folks, I still run 40-50 miles per week and have logged over 74,000 running miles in the last 35 years. That is more miles than I had on my last 3 cars!
