Angry Gripes

Since people here and there have gripes about different dealerships, I thought I'd make a thread just for gripes or problems we've had with MAs and dealers all over the place.

My gripe is...
My CM has been at the dealership for almost 2 weeks now. The MA we've been dealing with told us paperwork couldn't be drawn up for us to sign until it was on the lot.
So the CM is on the lot early last week. The MA now has to take 3-4 days trying to get with the finance person to draw up our paperwork.
It was sent out on Monday, finally. We got it yesterday.
Lo and behold, they'd thrown in some charges both the MA and my Mister had agreed wouldn't be there. Is the MA paying ANY attention to what he's trying to sell!?
Now we wait for new paperwork to be drawn up and sent to us to be signed and sent back.
I might have my CM by Thanksgiving. Maybe.
Definitely not using this MA again.

That long? Have you told them that people are using a device that just came out called a computer?

I'm just over the whole deal. It would be one thing if my MA just gave me an estimated date for delivery, but I can track each step on the OL, so why would he putz around and make these kind of screw ups that make the wait even longer? MINI ordering should be a highlight to the experience, not an additional frustration.
We decided to go with this dealership because of good previous experience. Our other option was in Murray, UT, and that's a definite no--when I took my Cooper there for service 2 years ago it was broken into on the lot--and the dealership refused to replace the stolen item (an iPod) that the service manager had placed in the front seat of the car, in clear view.
I wish I had more good experiences with MINI, but the dealerships are really turning the entire package sour for me.

Call MINI of Loveland, Shelley was a dream to work with. The drive from Colorado home would be a great break in for your car... Heck, I would give you a ride from DIA to pick it up!

I guess I am pretty lucky that my dealership is 8 minutes from my house. I hope my car is on the Asian King that docked in Port Hueneme this AM.

If only that were a possibility....
I told my Mister I want to call the MA and just tell him to forget it, he's lost a repeat customer and any good word-of-mouth I might've shared.

I'll keep Shelley in mind if we try again after this mess. Thanks for sharing the name.

My MA called us on Friday to tell us that not only had their Finance person quit, the new paperwork hadn't been drawn up to send to us.
He was supposed to have that taken care of on Friday. In spite of our requests that they actually overnight the paperwork so it would get to us Saturday or even today and we might actually get the car this week (gasp!), FedEx didn't make a delivery to us Saturday, and nothing has shown up yet today.
I give up.

I have a friend in Idaho who wanted to get a CM4 until she found she was about 300 miles from the nearest three dealerships. She contacted them and asked about how she could get support for her car - how to get routine service and what if there's a problem. When she also pursued the sales transaction, she got so frustrated she called MINI USA to ask how she's supposed to become a customer in her part of the world. No satisfaction or support there, so she's looking for something else that she can live with (her MB is definitely going away). Good luck with a more satisfying solution.

Yep... Time to leave it and move on! Good Luck, I know that you will find a better MINI dealer.

MontanaMini - they better be throwing in some shirts or some other sort of goody for your trouble. Otherwise, you might look in to toilet papering the dealership sometime.

Damn that sucks. I got one off the lot, but they took great care of me. Went in friday night to go over the car, filled out a financial form on their website, went in Saturday and it was all ready to go. 5 minutes of paperwork and we had the keys
