winter wheels for 07 convertible

I've seen older posts about using Honda civic steel wheels for Mini's, but has anyone used them on an 07 convertible without fit problems?? Thanks

The '07 convertible is still an R52 (that is, a first-gen MINI), so you should have no problems. With the first-gen cars, you could use most 15" wheels, even if you have an 'S'.

winter wheels

thanks for your response to my question. I called Tirerack for steel wheels, and they don't show any steel for that fit. I understand they have to be careful, but...
You say "most 15's", as in almost any 4 bolt, 15 inch?
Thanks again.

Did you try calling Tire Rack on the phone, or contacting Alex here on NAM? I remember at one time they had a "Winter package" for the first-gen MINI that included winter tires and the appropriate steel rims, even though I don't think it was listed on their website.

As for fitment, I should have been clearer. When I said that "most 15s" would fit, I just meant that we have it good in that respect compared to the owners of second-gen 'S' models. The brake calipers in the second-gen 'S' MINIs are larger than those in the first-gen cars, so most 15" wheels won't fit on a second-gen 'S' without either requiring spacers or grinding off a little bit of the brake caliper.

In short, go find some OEM Honda Civic wheels and you should be all set. In fact, the only OEM 15" 4X100 mm wheels I can think of offhand that *won't* fit are the early Mazda Miata wheels. Those used a 54 mm center bore, so they won't fit over the MINI hub.
