2011 JCW Tuning kit manifold

Any of you know if the 2011 kits (for cars built 10/10 and later) should include the manifold? I just had the kit installed on my car and removed the heat shield to see if it was on my car and found that the stock manifold is still there.

I want to know if I got shorted a part. I would hate to think my dealership would do that but I would hate more paying for something and not getting it.

-Thanks

Lots of views but no responses so I did some research and confirmed that the 2011 kits do in fact include a new manifold.

I called the dealership and spoke to the SM and reported my issue. After some checking with the technician that did the install, he called back to confirm that my new manifold was still in a box sitting in the technician's stall. Apparently the tech got so side tracked/distracted because of the snags with doing the ECU reprogram that he forgot to install it. Of course you would think that the technician would have noticed this quite significant part laying around. It certainly didn't appear that I was ever going to be told that it wasn't installed so perhaps he hoped it would go un-noticed. Anyway, the car is going back this week to get it installed.

Hmmm, I wonder how much, if any, performance was missing due to this "slight" oversight???

Well I just saw this and would have responded if I i was on here last night. I'm sorry the dealership made such a big error, while you won't feel a huge difference, the part is very pricey and you deserve it after paying a premium for the 2011 kit. Why didn't you just go with an AP?

Did they quote any additional labor to install the manifold. I was told it was around six additional hours. I would be curious what your delaers tells you.

AP will not work with my car; in fact there is not a tuning solution available for the 2011+ MCS other than an option offered by PAW Motorsports in Florida and that requires removal of the ECU.

No additional labor charge at all. The SM was very apologetic and took full responsibility for the oversight.

As far as I'm concerned, I was quoted a price for the install of the complete JCW kit which I paid in good faith only to find out (on my own) that the complete kit was not in fact installed. At no time did the SM say that the price I was quoted would only include all parts except the manifold; in fact he specifically referred to the shop labor guide for the labor time.

FYI, my on the road cost including parts, labor and taxes was $2639.05.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like you got a good deal on the package. Do you mind if I ask what was the total number of labor ours quoted?

Thanks

You can actually buy the kit on-line at various vendors for a little less than $1900.00. My dealer would only warranty the install if I bought the kit ($2019.00) from them. Not a hard choice for me. They charged me 5.5 hours of labor to install at their accessory labor rate (@$90.00/hr )which I think is $20.00 per hour less than their regular labor rate. Additionaly the SW reduced the service ticket .5 hours (plus he gave me a $75.00 gift card) to compensate me for the delay in returning my car to me when first promised.

Did I get a good deal??? Maybe - maybe not, but I bet the dealership cost for the JCW tuning kit is much less than the price I paid so for sure they didn't lose any money on the deal.

Update

I picked up my car today after the dealership completed the tuning kit with the install of the new manifold. My impressions:

1. Sound is a little deeper at idle
2. Still have a slight drone between ~2500-3000 rpm
3. Before dropping the car off I was skeptical that I would be able to notice a difference in power delivery but there is definitely a very noticeable increase in torque.

I'm going to put the car on the dyno to see what it makes. Overall though I'm quite pleased...for now.

Did you miss my response to that question from above?
