So I posted about a week ago about how I had that squeaky creaky plastic noise from the dash when driving. I could reproduce the noise just by pushing on the alloy patina trim near the speedo. So last night I removed all my alloy patina trim from the dash and then put some black lithium grease on all the metal and plastic tabs on the back of each piece. I also applied a light coat to the egdes that I knew would be sitting against more plastic. Then I put it back together, wiped off some excess grease oozing out of seams, and I was done. I did a test push on the trim and NO MORE NOISE! I don't know how long this fix will last, but it should last quite a while. Total time....somewhere between one and two hours.
Only drawback is now my car smells like my local auto store.
Hopefully that will subside.
