Rear view mirror obstructs sharp right turns

Just an observation...

I discovered at MOTD this year that i had to scrunch down to look around the rear view mirror on tight right hand turns.

I know the obvious answer is to lower my seat but i like the seat position for all other cases.

The MINI windshield seems to have a low eyebrow compared to all other cars i have owned.

This doesn't exactly address your issue but it may help. Us cabrio pilots deal with rear visibility challenges on a daily basis.

I notice the same thing with the A pillar in left hand turns.

Do you have your seat on the lowest setting? Obviously this thing depends on a person's build so there's now real answer except a smaller mirror.

The instructions in the Car Talk link should be tried by all. I recently adjusted my side mirrors in accordance with those instructions and found it much better to view traffic behind me. I just finished 4K miles on the Interstates and highly recommend that everyone try it.

Signcarver - it's time for a Lightinsight if you don't have one. See it http://lightinsight.com/ . It beats resting your chin in the steering wheel to see a traffic light.

This Car Talk mirror adjustment says it is a NEW way to adjust mirrors. I have been doing this for 32 years. It has always been the proper way to do it.

Well, the tappet brothers will say anything for a laugh.

My lightinsight just arrived by post this very day and it is installed, easy peasy. Haven't taken it out for a trial run yet but the light fixture over the work bench in the garage shows up brilliantly now.
