Many thanks to NAM members for outlining Bowden cable issue
I was successful in reattaching that blue ferrule at the cable end of the interior door lock mechanism today.

Quick tip that wasn't mentioned in there .. door trim removal tools. $15 at Amazon and a good bet since plastic trim rivets are easily damaged.
