All,

I just replaced my OEM spark plugs with Autolite Double Platinum APP5224. I could find no reference on this form to the correct spark plug gap for this plug. I called Autolite and got their recommendation of .044.

You should not gap a platinum plug. You will mare the platinum tip and affect the performance. They should be gaped right out of the box. iicr.

 

The instructions with the platinum plugs indcate that they should be gapped per the manufacuturer's recommendation. So gapping them does not seem to be a problem. I measured all four plugs out of the box and got four different gaps.
