iPod Static with Monster iCarCharger 1000
Hi,
I recently acquired a Monster iCarCharger to use in my 2007 Cooper S w/ NAV. In my previous 2003 Cooper, I had an issue with ground loop causing static on a similar Monster product. I purchased a ground loop isolator and all was great.
However, I now have the same issue in the 2007 even with the same ground loop isolator installed. The music is so garbled with a tonne of static that I can barely make out the song that is playing.
My current question... do I purchase another ground loop isolator assuming the current one I have is bust? do I have a different issue?
Several product on ebay have this or a similar warning "This filter can only remove or reduce audio noise and may NOT remove all problems of noise. If noise is caused by power circuit, you will need a noise filter for power wire."
The static is only present when connected to an iPod charger that also uses aux-out / in to deliver sound. I have an external Sirius device that has no such troubles and is also connected using 12V power and aux-in.
Thanks for any thoughts.
