Anyone interested in cruising in together to the Chicago Auto Show Sunday?

I was planning leaving early (a bit after 7:00) and taking Sheridan and Lake Shore Drive down.

That would be awesome if I lived up that way. Perhaps I could start the drive up "55" since I live the farthest away and meet up with all the southerners lol.

 

I'll be in from Springfield on Saturday. Staying in Evanston near Oakton. We'll be glad to meet up with you to start the 'parade.' Ellen and JoeGreen.

 

How much is "a bit"?

I live downtown, so I'd love to hop onto Lake Shore to get into line with you guys as you pass through. But according to my cipherin' you guys will be passing through around 7:30, which is approximately when I'll be getting out of the shower. If any of the downtown folks plan on doing a short-lived convoy around 8:00 or so, I'd be up for it...otherwise I'll plan on cruising the parking lot for you guys.

I nominate the top deck of the lot for the MINI crowd...anyone else care to weigh in?

How about meeting up in the parking lot (Jewel or Dominicks?) at Oakton and Chicago Bvd. in Evanston at about 7:15..

I was thinking of parking on the 4th floor by the walkway for maximum viewing exposure since we will be in early, but I could be swayed (and try to catch some air going up the parking ramps to the top floor).. I will go with the herd on the parking

 

Excellent point about the 4th floor walkway exposure. Do we expect a fairly free reign with parking at that hour?

Woooo Hooooo, MINI fun!! Y'all have to like my new wheels .. just in case you don't notice them on your own ..

 

NEW Meeting place!!

Lets meet at the parking garage at the south end of the Northwestern campus.

We will leave at about 7:15.

That will give us a few miles of fun twisties on Sheridan before we hit Lake Shore Drive.

I will bring my FRS radio tuned to our usual MINI lazy persons Channel (Channel1 subcode 1), and if anyone wants to join in along the route, we can hook up. Just let me know what exit you are joining in from and we will keep an eye out for you!

BTW for those that aren't sure where the lot is - it's at the southeast point of the campus. You'd enter off of Sheridan road at a 90 degree turn in the road it self. The road and the entrance will for a "Y". If you're going south on Sheridan you'd be driving down the right/top side of the "Y" and instead of following the road to the right you'd make a 45 degree turn to the left (down the center part of the "Y".

the 4th level in parking garage A at McCormick is the one with the bridge that goes directly to the main entrance area - that's why it's preferred.
