Well...I finally did it. Bought an R53!!!! My 1st Mini!

I've been creeping around here on the site for a few months.....trying to learn all that I can about minis. I searched and searched for what I was looking for..but never really had much luck finding just the care I was looking for.

Well...I finally found it. I picked up this super clean 2003 JCW R53 (Cooper S) with 87,000 miles on it for $9500...I think I got an awesome deal on it! I got it from the original owner, and it's extremely clean for being almost 9 years old! According to all the maintenance records they gave me...it's had a great life and has been well taken care of.

This thing is so fun to drive......just like a supercharged go-kart for the street This mini reminds me how much fun you can actually have in a car!

As far as modifications go...I'm thinking about putting new shocks on it, sport springs to lower it down an inch or so, and maybe removing the resonator from the JCW exhaust (which is WAY to quiet). Some different wheels would be nice, but I'm not sure I want to spend the money right now.

By the way...does anyone know what kind of intake the care has on it? Looks like the JCW intake was removed, and some other aftermarket intake was installed.

Man,
That thing looks great. Get some Bonnet Stripes to set it off. I got some put on for $100 from a local vinyl shop.

I personally like your wheels a lot, however, check to make sure none are bent, because the old runflats were notorious for that.

Electric Blue is the best color. Enjoy! You may want to consider KONI FSD's for your new shocks. They transformed the ride in my MINI's, and you get a little lowering with them.
