those wheels are in the likes of HRE, Iforged...

they are made in Japan and cost a pretty hefty penny.

Sort of a tangent here but I just saw that these guys can get the RGR in Diamond Silver. Sweet.

Don, do you mind if I contact Peter?

Thanks

Ahh well I guess thats the answer to the PM I sent you...

If you go to the wheelexperts site above and browse their BBS catalogue, they ave the BBS in Diamond Silver, really nice. I'd buy that in a second..

Alas it was not to be. Peter Lee said that BBS is not allowing them to import the Diamond Silver to the US anymore - BUGGER!

however, maybe you'd have more luck? Give it a go Alex - you da man.

The hunt is back on again

Chuck

Feel free to contact Peter.
He is one hell of a guy and he is always willing to answer any questions.
BTW the WORK rims are very light and they are built to your specs as well. The only thing I do not like to do is clean them.

Those wheels look awful on the car. I wish these wheel manufacturers would quit marketing Grandpa wheels for the MINI as if they were cool. The lines on those wheels are way to sharp, and the overall design is far too conservative.

Grandpa wheels? Can you provide some other examples, I am curious as to what you deem "grandpa" from other manufacturers. What wheels are cool? I am worried I may be getting too old to peel back the layers of what today's youth deem cool....

I don't remember my grandfather ever having wheels that looked that good! I must be really old since mine are similar looking.

Whatever. You all are well within your right to believe that those wheels are cool.

The problem, as I see it, is that there are few cool wheels for the MINI. Everyone seems to go out of the way to make boring, many-spoked wheels/BBS knockoffs and claim that they're cool just because they are similar to ones found on BMWs. Well, they look like hell on those cars, too. It's really a testament to the value of good marketing that people can be made to believe that wheels that are either tremendously boring or just plain hideous look good.

So this is really a lament about the lack of imagination applied to wheel designs for the MINI. It would be great it one of the manufacturers would show some creativity and bring some wheels as unique as the MINI to the market.

Nothing good in terms of wheels since good ones aren't available. I have ASA L5Ss with Blizzaks as winter beaters and would like to sell my fair-weather S-Lites with Euforias for some real wheels if someone will make some.
