R50/53 ABS & Stick & Ice
This is the first stick shift with ABS I ever had, and I am amazed at the fact that you do not have to push the clutch in to keep the engine from stalling with the wheels "locked" on ice.
I recall my wife driving an Accord coupe years ago and stopping for a stop sign on ice years ago, and looked at me very puzzled as to why all the lights on the dash came on (stalled engine)!
I guess it is because the wheels are not really "locked" with the ABS, they keep turning so the engine is not stopped.
Spent an hour at a nearby beach parking lot (about an acre of glare ice) and the DSC and ABS are incredible.
Of course, it was much more fun turning the DSC off!
Regards,
Red
