Creaking clutch pedal noise

My clutch out of nowhere makes this incredibly annoying creaking noise every time I press/depress the pedal. I can sort of feel it as well, almost like it's clicking and making a creaking noise. It happens every time in the same spot, right before the clutch starts to engage and right when it starts to disengage letting out. It is honestly driving me crazy. I can take a few interior rattles but not a creaking/clicking noise every time I press the clutch. Is anyone's r53 like this?

mine does the same thing. Not real load, but just kind of "creeking". It's been happening for a few months. I figured it was kinda like the door hinges and just needed some lube somewhere.

Sounds like a throw out bearing going bad.

It's not a throwout bearing on mine. It creeks when the cars not even running.

Mine does that sometimes. I traced it to the return spring on the pedal. I squirt a little oil on the pivot points every now and then and it goes away.

You are using the S-10 CSC, right? How's that working out for you?

It's working great! Seems a tiny bit stiffer than with the junk OE piece, but no leaks or problems.

My brand new 2011 has done this since day one. I believe it is actually the pedal. Cheap plastic. I'll have it looked at whenever I go in for service next. I'm not concerned about it at all. If I wanted to crawl under the dash I could probably just put a little grease on the point where the arm articulates. Just sounds like plastic on plastic creaking. Not a big deal. Just a bit annoying.

I'm still getting used to the clutch (15 months later) on my R53 being a pathetic sponge compared to my previous car, and non-existant compared to the car I learned to drive way back when.
The MINI clutch takes very little effort comparatively and I find myself pressing so hard that it clunks against the floor. *shrug*

You should drive a new gti. Those clutches are jokes compared to the mini. Soft as he'll
