More travel perhaps? Adjustability? Is it possible to keep the same firmness, not increasing the ride firmness, but improving corning?

Generally some bump travel is gained, you get height adjustablity, and sometimes damping adjustability.

Coilovers are not the ultimate suspension item....it's really just a shock with an adjustable height spring perch. Some coilovers are really good, and some suck.

The damper and valving itself is the most important part and on cheaper coilovers this is where quality is sacrificed to hit that cheap price point. Often times the valving can be much worse than a regular Koni Yellow.

Adjustabile damping can be nice, but again, some coilovers adjust from "crappy" to "really crappy."

I enjoy my Koni Yellow, Tein H-tech, and IE Fixed camber plate set-up a lot. There is very little drop though, maybe 10mm, but that's a good thing for function. Better ride quality than stock and much better handling. I hate Tein, but these particular springs are good (everything else Tein makes stinks). There aren't many good suspension options for the R53 in my opinion on a cheaper budget. I would have liked coilovers but to do it the way I wanted I would have spent twice as much.

Mainly adjust-ability... I guess you could corner balance a car more properly with all the adjustable features of them.

Personally I want to be lower than any springs would allow lol. They're still comfortable (for me)... Not as comfortable as stock however, but I bought mine used with many miles on them.

Seems the best bang for comfort and performance are the Konis. You can then choose whether or not to go lower on springs or not.

The TSW springs pretty much do this; they actually improve handling and make the ride more comfortable. However, they don't lower very much.

Springs or shocks? That is the question. Personally, I would buy a set of Koni FSD shocks. The give you the best of both worlds--comfort and handling. Lowering springs are just painful, especially here in the northeast.

Ok, so, how much of an improvement in handling and comfort? I can care less about lowering... it's hard to get out my driveway with the height I have now!

And how much for the upgrade?
