Anyone have any before and after experience with the strut brace? It is the only accessory I am considering right now on my fairly loaded new cabrio. Thanks.

 

The Strutt brace is a good mod; but not the one I would suggest first.
It was the first thing I did - right after purchasing the car. Was so simple to install, and seemed like a good idea. There is definitely a difference in front-end response. The down side is that it makes the front end stiffer; leaving the rear alone - thus INCREASING understeer.

In retrospec - I would do a Rear Sway Bar upgrade first. It takes more time to put it in (find someone who can help / has done it before); but the difference is HUGE compared to the strutt brace; and a more desireable first mod.

My suggestion would be to do the Strutt Brace last....

If you want to stiffen the chassis, I would recommend the under chassis brace. This may be worthwhile for a cabrio. I have the one from M7 called USS, three pieces, one in front of the engine, one mid car and the last one in the back near the rear struts, all under the car.

I use the USS on my R56 hardtop w/o the front upper strut brace and it does stiffen up the car nicely.
