R52 weather stripping/molding around roof repair

weather stripping/molding around roof repair

The weather stripping moulding rubbery bit at the belt line around the base of the roof is all cracked and chipped. How possible is his a as DIY project?

but i am the third owner of a 5 year old car with 42,000 miles, not sure how the warranty works with non original owners

I was told the parts were $125 per side. It looks like there are just a few screws above the rear hatch. It should not be that hard.

Here's a DIY link that might be helpful. PS--my bad-saw that this is for a Cabrio.

This link looks like it is for a hard top not a convertible.

Super easy to replace! Just the few bolts and that's it. Make sure you align it correctly at the edges so make some notes where they end. It should take you less than 30 mins.

Awesome! Once I actually have the car on Friday and can look at it sounds like it will be clear. I called the dealership and they gave me a total price of close to 500. Eek! I can live better with 300 for parts and time spent. As it is one shop I was told can be well trusted with minis recommended that I go to the dealer to have the I pod hookup added and that is 400+. And of course the front and back stripes. Must have stripes!
