Wash and detailing kit

Hi all, just got the new garage finished, so I'm Looking for a list of car wash and detailing products that should be in everyones kit. I have a new 2011 Spice Orange MSC that I'm working on blacking out, ( have my cans of plasti-dip al ready) but no cleaniing products. This is Gingers first summer and I would like to take extra special care of her. LOL

Cheers
Josh

Prima epic wax
Prima Banana gloss

Use Prima Hydro after every wash.

The basics that you'll want are a good car wash soap, soft mitt for washing, a wheel cleaner and brush, paint cleaning clay + lube/detailer, sealant, wax, and something for the black trim. You'll need a number of applicators and microfiber cloths for the sealant/waxes and a drying towel (I like the waffle-weave microfiber ones). Also, make sure that whatever wash mitt you use to clean the wheels isn't used to clean the car.

Not sure what kind of interior you have, but if you have leather seats then pick up a leather cleaner and conditioner as well as an interior cleaner of some sort.

All of these products used for each step will be based largely on personal preference. Anything to protect the paint is better than nothing, but many people here (myself included) will steer you towards higher-end products as we tend to prefer their results.

Many of the members here like the Prima line of products. Adams Polishes is also popular. Griots Garage some some good stuff and I personally like Chemical Guys a lot. There are a number of places to go, so definitely search this forum. Enjoy the car and your new garage!

I'll second Griot's because that is what I am used to and also recommend gleaning everything you can from the Detailing 101 pages paying special attention to the gospel according to octaneguy.

Congrats, this kit was intended for people in your situation.

I have since modified the kit a bit to include more and better microfiber towels (the towels pictured were from Prima and they are currently not available). There are a few other "nice" things to have not included in the kit, but it was designed for someone with a $200-$250 budget.

Haha, no just one Dirt Guard..you don't need two though it's nice to have. If you can only afford one, put it in the rinse bucket which rinses the dirty mitt and skip the soap bucket which should theoretically already be clean.
