2010-11 Interior Question

I didn't upgrade to the chrome line interior - so I'm wondering what comes standard. Is it flat silver paint around the gauges?

Taking delivery of my car tonight - don't know why this just dawned on me now. LOL

Right, it's a satin-finish silver. I think it looks nice, but if I found a really good deal on a chrome kit, I'd probably go with chrome. Just a me thing, of course.

Cheers,

I ordered the chromeline interior on my '11 (still waiting). Seemed to class it up a bit along with the english oak and polar beige leather. I guess I wanted to make my car more into a "luxomini." The regular satin looks good too and maybe even "sportier" to some. I thought $250 was a lot for option, but I looked at aftermarket kits before ordering my car and it appears to be a VERY expensive retrofit, especially for the tach unit.

Hi Brian. Congratulations on your new MINI! I personally don't consider chrome an "upgrade". It's an option if you like it but I'm not a big fan. One of the design decisions that MINI has made in the 2011 model year is to make the interior more subtle (i.e. going from silver dials on black to black on black.) I prefer this trend. In keeping, I like the satin silver look and I certainly wouldn't consider it down-scale from anything. These are all preferences, of course, and MINI has a million. I'm sure you'll be happy.

I don't really understand all the chrome hate, I like it and believe it brings up the interior, but that's just me. I found a pic of the standard trim at this site:

If I am violating copyright or some other thing please let me know and I'll take the link down.

Cheers!

chrome

I have chrome and like it, but I don't think it looks "upscale". Just different. I was going for a "classic" look - hot chocolate with white roof and mirrors, white stripes.

I really didn't like the standard non-chrome interior. Painted silver plastic looks horribly cheap, and is why I won't own an R56 older than 2011.

The other problem I have with the standard interior is that the tachometer is totally black, while every other round object in the cabin has a silver trim. Really, really annoying inconsistency that would drive me insane.

My '11 with Chrome line interior, Dark Grey color line (would rather have Carbon black color line), Anthracite headliner (must have).

I actually like the look of the chrome rings with the black interior too.

I have a 2010 and can't agree more! Does anyone know of a way to change the silver buttons to black like the interior of the 2011s?

I went with a carbon fiber interior trim which plays well with the CF accents I have on the exterior along with the BRG paint. Pictures are posted in my gallery.

IMHO.

I kept the satin finish bezel rings but just noticed a couple of months ago that the one around the tach is missing. I'm not really sure that I ever had it (getting old I guess). I've looked everywhere. Odd really. Besides RealOEM, anyone know of anywhere else to find one?

IMO chrome line is a great option and I'm sorry I didn't take it - also ran out of money a bit.
