will these fit the r53 or will i run into fitment issues? also what is the minis center bore?

 

With 205/45 no issues, Possible slight rub on rear bumper brackets with 215/45. The centerbore is 56mm.

I would stay with the 205's

you can see they fit just fine. I like the narrower tire for more clearance, but a 215 could be fine.

since your in a 53 id say use a 205

 

these are also the same specs on a 53. these are 205/45s

 

205/45-17 is stock size.
Shorter Overall Diameter of a 40 series compared to a 45 series tall tire will somewhat compensate for tire weight and will yield better gearing with smaller overall diameter. While, 215 width will yield better grip. Bi-Winning!
