scratch on windshield
scratch on windshield
Today's drive to the office had some good points, and one bad one. Good points: the usual fun of driving the mini, and I got a wave from another mini driver.
Bad point: I caught a small rock from a truck, directly in front of the driver's seat. No crack, but a small surface scratch was left. I'm tempted to just live with it...but don't want to regret it later. I'm sure my insurance would pay to either repair or replace (last time I had this kind of issue was over 10 years ago, and at that time they wouldn't make a repair in that location...not sure if the technology has changed so that they would try to repair now, or not), assuming that they didn't laugh too hard at the small scratch. Of course, replacement might also take care of that pesky whistle that kicks in at 75 mph...not that I ever drive 75.
Anyway, what would you do?

I'm right there with ya..but I did have mine repaired and I barely notice where the damage was and yes I have that dang whistling noise. I talked to the local rep with Glass Doctor, he said he could replace the windscreen for $175, which would fix the noise problem, give me an updated windscreen with the built in tinting at the top and get rid of all the scratches and sand blast pits the Mini gets for being so low. Good Luck!
