Just Had An Alignment..Camber/Toe Out

Hello NAM :D First time poster, long time lurker. I've learned a lot from this place so far.

Bought my first mini, an '04 MCS/R53, last week. It's bone stock. I've been doing preventative maintenance on it, and new tires was high on the list.

After some research on here, I had four 215/45/17 Nitto NeoGens mounted on the Mini today, along with a four wheel alignment. They told me I'd need a kit to fix the camber up front and the toe in the rear:

Top is front, bottom is rear.

How bad is it? o.O

Thanks! =)

Well, up front yes you'll need a "kit" to get it nailed as there is no factory adjustment.

There is however toe adjustment in the rear, it's limited but it is there, and it looks like they didn't even try. What the rear doesn't have is an adjustment for is camber, and for that you'll need atleast one pair of adjustable rear links...

I would find a different shop if I were you...it doesn't sound like they really wanted to get the back end right.

Rgds,
John

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply! I took it back up there after my first post because the steering wheel was crooked by an inch. After reading your comment I called and told them about the toe adjustment. They said their machine, a 2011 Kroger (?) Showed no adjustments for toe in the rear. They said they'd double check.

After doing some research I found out that rear toe is adjusted by loosening the three bolts on the front of the trailing arm, and that it's somewhat hidden. I called and told the shop this, they still swear there is no way to adjust it. So when I pick the car up, I'm going to take it home, jack up the rear and put some bright orange paint on the spot then take it back to them.

I hate stupid people.
